Greek stocks ended significantly lower in the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday, after strong pressure by portfolios which consolidated profits from the previous days.
The general index of the market fell 1.33 pct to end at 841.51 points. The Large Cap index lost 1.09 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 1.64 pct lower. Turnover was at 76.7 million euros in a volume of 61.8 million shares.
EEE (0.30 pct) and Aegean Airlines (0.57 pct) scored gains among blue chip stocks, while Piraeus Bank (-4.38 pct) and PPC (-2.05 pct) suffered losses. Among market sectors, Food and Beverages (0.29 pct) and Technology (0.04 pct) scored minor gains, while Health (-3.93 pct) and Financial Services (-2.75 pct) suffered losses.
National Bank and Eurobank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 72 to 43 with another 120 issues unchanged. Technical Olympic (17.16 pct), Revoil (9.82 pct) and Leventeris (9.37 pct) were top gainers, while Nakas (-8.05 pct), Ktima Lazaridis (-5.79 pct) and Epilektos (-5.45 pct) were top losers.
