Greek stocks eased lower in moderate trade on the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday. The general index fell 0.37 pct to end at 838.69 points, off the day’s lows of 835.03 points. The Large Cap index ended 0.55 pct lower and the Mid Cap index rose 1.68 pct. Turnover was 50.043 million euros in volume of 37,653,552 shares.
ELPE (3.09 pct), Viohalco (2.60 pct) and Mytilineos (1.16 pct) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Titan (2.32 pct), Motor Oil (1.90 pct) and Piraeus (1.67 pct) suffered losses.
Among market sectors, Technology (2.42 pct), Industrial Products (1.41 pct) and Raw Materials (1.16 pct) scored big gains, while Health (1.70 pct) and Financial Services (1.30 pct) suffered losses.
National Bank and Alpha Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 59 to 52, with another 32 issues unchanged.
AEGEK (14.81 pct), Lanakam (13.45) and Flexopack (9.68 pct) were top gainers, while Hatzikranioti (16.67 pct), Viokarpet (9.91 pct) and Nexans (9.09 pct) were top losers.
