Building materials’ prices grew 0.9 pct in January 2018, compared with the same month last year, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
The statistics service, in a monthly report, attributed this development to price increases in iron pipes (7.2 pct), steel pipes (4.8 pct), diesel oil (4.7 pct), cement (1.3 pct), radiators (1.1 pct), switches (1.1 pct), bricks (0.8 pct) and wooden flooring (0.7 pct). On the other hand, prices fell in marble dust (2.5 pct), electricity (2.1 pct), plastic pipes (1.2 pct).
The statistics service said that the new home building materials’ price index grew 0.9 pct in January after a zero change recorded in January 2017. The index rose 0.3 pct in January from December 2017, after a 0.2 pct increase recorded in the same period last year.
