Greek stocks ended significantly lower in the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday

Greek stocks ended significantly lower in the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday, hit by a negative climate prevailing in international markets on concern over developments in the US bond market where the 10-year bond yield rose above 3.0 pct.

The general index of the market fell 1.39 pct to end at 825.93 points. The Large Cap index ended 1.65 pct lower and the Mid Cap index fell 0.77 pct. Turnover was a low 46.90 million euros in volume of 41.5 million shares.

ADMIE (1.31 pct), Titan (0.70 pct) scored gains among blue chip stocks, while Sarantis (4.10 pct) and National Bank (3.98 pct) suffered heavy losses. Among market sectors, Health (0.98 pct) and Technology (0.64 pct) scored gains, while Food/Beverage (2.47 pct) and Banks (2.38 pct) suffered losses. National Bank and Attica Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 74 to 43 with another 120 issues unchanged. Aeoliki (8.0 pct), Space (5.10 pct) and VIS (4.17 pct) were top gainers, while CPI (16.8 pct), Attica Bank (10.26 pct) and Voyatzoglou (9.69 pct) were top losers.
