Greek stocks ended flat in the Athens Stock Exchange on Monday, as selected buying halted a five-day decline of the market. The general index rose 0.21 pct to end at 784.46 points. The Large Cap index ended 0.61 pct up and the Mid Cap index rose 0.14 pct. Turnover was a low 43.4 million euros in volume of 30.8 million shares.
OPAP (3.83 pct) and PPC (3.35 pct) scored gains among blue chip stocks, while Piraeus Bank (2.40 pct) and Hellenic Petroleum (2.19 pct) suffered heavy losses. Among market sectors, Health (4.64 pct) and Travel (3.13 pct) scored gains, while Chemicals (1.06 pct) and Raw Materials (0.74 pct) suffered losses. National Bank and MIG were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 60 to 54 with another 126 issues unchanged. Mathios (26.62 pct), Iaso (6.0 pct) and MIG (5.38 pct) were top gainers, while Nexans (9.80 pct), FG Europe (7.60 pct) and Avax (7.37 pct) were top losers.
