Greek industrial production rose 2.0 pct in September, with manufacturing production rising 1.3 pct in the month, compared with the same month in 2017, Hellenic Statistical Authority said.
The statistics service, in a monthly report, said the industrial production general index rose 2.0 pct in September, after a 4.1 pct rise recorded in the 2017/2016 period. This development was attributed to an 1.3 pct increase in manufacturing production (leather/footwear up 11.3 pct, wood up 17.8 pct, computers/electronics/optical up 49.7 pct, furniture up 10.1 pct and machinery up 12.6 pct. Electricity production rose 10.7 pct, while mining production fell 14.7 pct and water production eased 2.2 pct.
The average index in the January-September period rose 0.9 pct compared with the same period last year, while the seasonally-adjusted index fell 0.9 pct in September from August 2018.
