Sales of technological consumer products up 5.6 pct in Jan-Sept, survey

Sales of technological consumer products in Greece grew 5.6 pct in the January-September period totaling 1.5 billion euros, a survey by GfK TEMAX said on Monday.

The survey showed that sales of technological consumer products grew 5.1 pct in the third quarter compared with the same period in 2017, totaling 536 million euros. Telecoms recorded the biggest growth compared with other product categories, totaling 459 million euros in the nine-month period, up 11.3 pct, for an increase of 9.0 pct in the third quarter of 2018.

Sales of electronics grew 7.4 pct in the January-September period to 226 million euros, for an increase of 5.3 pct in the third quarter.

Sales of large home appliances rose 5.9 pct to 350 million euros in the nine-month period for an increase of 7.0 pct in the third quarter, while sales of small home appliances rose 3.4 pct to 109 million euros, for an increase of 6.5 pct in the third quarter.

Sales of IT products rose 1.4 pct to 317 million euros for a decline of 0.1 pct in the third quarter. Sales of photo itmes, office equipment fell significantly by 16.7 pct and 10.3 pct in the nine-month period, respectively.
